Week 3 - Lincoln!

Hey everybody, I know this is a little earlier that the past two emails, but I have some down time so I figured I might as well write this one now!

I just got back from Lincoln where I had a school field trip.  It was a long day but it was cool to see the giant cathedral in all its glory!  When you see the pictures you wont believe your eyes!
I don’t have any more trips this weekend (thank goodness) so hopefully I will be able to get all my school work done before the start of the week.  Tonight I am heading into town to a pub with a few friends.  I will get to sleep in for the first time since I have been to Harlaxton tomorrow morning, and I am really looking forward to that.  There is a trip to either Cambridge or Oxford that I opted not to go on, so I get the rest of the weekend here at the manor.  I really need to do laundry.

I don’t think I have told you all what my course load is like here so I’ll tell you now!  I have a class that all 176 students take together called ‘British Studies’ which is all about the history and culture of the British people.  It is coupled with a seminar with smaller sections of classes.  My other classes include:  Intro to Macroeconomics, The British Novel (13 books in a 14 week semester…kill me now), Intro to Social Work, and The Psychologist’s Look at Human Sexuality.  All of those classes are either twice or 3 times a week crammed into Monday through Thursday.  Friday’s are generally off for students except like two of them throughout the semester.
Hmmm what else is there to write about?  Did I mention how incredibly expensive everything is here?!  Beverages of the alcoholic persuasion are equivalent to 5 or 6 dollars each!  A coke is about half that price too, so you can’t really get away with anything here.  On a better note, while the food may be expensive, at least it tastes ok!  I had a much worse idea of the food here than it really is.  I haven’t gone hungry at any meal here.  Granted, I still get a bowl of cereal or PB and J (or both) with the British dishes at meals, but it works for me ha ha.

Ok I’ll stop blabbering and let you look at all the pretty pictures!  Enjoy!  Oh and I plan on finally getting a calling card sometime soon so if some weird number is calling your house or cell, pick it up!  It just might be me! Haha.
